Social Responsibility

We don’t just make the world better for the residents we serve. As a nationwide organisation operating in regional and remote communities that don’t get the same access and opportunities – we have a real opportunity to lead change. We do this through actions and initiatives like:

Delivering Meals on Wheels

At some of our villages, we deliver a Meals on Wheels program providing nutritious, three-course lunches to senior residents.

Catering School and Community Events

We support school sports days with fresh fruit and refreshments, host community BBQs and cultural awareness morning teas and contribute to local careers expos in support of local communities.

Championing Sustainable Practices in Villages

This includes reusable, biodegradable and compostable packaging, recycling of cardboard and cooking oil, promoting paper-free options, introducing a range of initiatives to reduce waste to landfill, and bringing hybrid and battery powered equipment.

Containers for Change

We donate the proceeds from Containers for Change initiatives to charities chosen in collaboration with our clients.

Modern slavery

Sirrom is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. We believe in eliminating all forms of compulsory labour and work to ensure slavery and human trafficking does not take place in any part of our business or broader supply chain. We carry out due diligence processes to identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains. This includes regular audits and assessments of high-risk suppliers.

Our reconciliation journey

Sirrom Corporation is committed to fostering long-term relationships by working collaboratively with our clients and key stakeholders. This is particularly relevant where indigenous communities are within our local footprint of project locations and sites are subject to native title or special land use agreements.

In August 2021 Northern Rise (part of the Sirrom Group) proudly released its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), NRVS Reflect RAP 2022-2023. Our Reflect RAP is an important document that supports our commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Indigenous groups, companies and communities.

Sirrom Corporation (Sirrom) is committed to supporting Indigenous Groups, companies and communities through a range of initiatives including employment, training and business engagement.

Supporting Indigenous Job Opportunities

Our Indigenous Employment target is 10%, and we proactive source and recruit indigenous candidates directly and via partnerships with Indigenous hiring organisations.

Partnering with Local and Indigenous Businesses

We build partnerships with local and regional suppliers as well as Indigenous owned businesses, to support the communities in which we operate.
